Traditional Key Lock

Classic keyed lock. Simple, dependable, the standard HDB replacement.

Best for: Anyone happy with a key, and landlords wanting a like-for-like swap.

Advantages

  • Nothing to learn — everyone in the household already knows how to use a key
  • No code to forget, and no battery to replace
  • Our lowest price point, and the fastest fit
  • Extra keys can be cut cheaply at any hardware shop

Considerations

  • Every additional user needs their own cut key
  • If all keys are lost, the lock must be drilled and replaced
  • Keys wear over time and eventually need replacing

Not suitable when

  • You want to stop carrying keys altogether
  • Several people need access and you do not want to cut keys

P2

Battery-Free Combination

No battery, no key. Set your own 3-digit code. Our most popular model.

Best for: Families sharing access who never want to think about keys again.

Advantages

  • Nothing to carry and nothing to lose — the code is in your head
  • Share access instantly by telling someone the code
  • Completely mechanical: no battery, ever
  • Change the code yourself any time, at no cost
  • Three finishes to match your mailbox

Considerations

  • A 3-digit code gives 1,000 combinations — ample for a residential block
  • Dials need a deliberate turn; very stiff fingers may prefer P5

Not suitable when

  • You may forget the code and want a way to recover it — choose P3 instead
  • The mailbox is fully exposed to driving rain — choose P6 or P9

P3

Combination + Backup Key

Code access, plus a backup key that retrieves your code if it is forgotten.

Best for: Keyless convenience, with a safety net if the code is forgotten.

Advantages

  • Day-to-day you never touch a key — the code does the work
  • If the code is ever forgotten, the backup key retrieves it
  • No battery, so nothing to charge or replace
  • Only S$5 more than P2 for a genuine safety net

Considerations

  • The backup key retrieves the code — it is not a spare key for daily use
  • Store the backup key somewhere safe and away from the mailbox
  • Two finishes only — silver is not available on this model

Not suitable when

  • You specifically want no key in existence at all — choose P2

Best for: Anyone who wants a modern keypad and does not mind a battery.

Advantages

  • Set a code from 4 to 14 digits — as short or as secure as you want
  • Fastest to operate — tap the code and it is open
  • Easy to use in a dim corridor or with wet hands
  • Warns you weeks before the battery runs low
  • Clean, modern look that suits a renovated lobby

Considerations

  • Uses a standard replaceable battery — budget a change every so often
  • Backup key arrangements vary by production batch; we confirm yours in writing before fitting
  • Black only on this model

Not suitable when

  • The mailbox is fully exposed to direct rain — choose a zinc-alloy mechanical model
  • You want to never think about a battery again — choose any of our seven mechanical models

Ergonomic Combination Lock

Large easy-grip dials and clear numerals, with code recovery.

Best for: Elderly residents, or anyone who finds small dials hard to grip.

Advantages

  • Designed specifically for weaker grip and older eyes
  • Larger numerals are readable without glasses in a dim corridor
  • No battery and no key to carry day to day
  • Code can be recovered if it is ever forgotten

Considerations

  • The backup key retrieves the code — it does not open the door by itself
  • Physically larger than P2, so check the door has clearance
  • Black only on this model

Not suitable when

  • You want the smallest, most discreet lock face — choose P2

Zinc Alloy Combination Lock

Zinc alloy body built for outdoor and high-use mailboxes.

Best for: Landed homes, gate-side and corridor mailboxes exposed to weather.

Advantages

  • Zinc alloy resists Singapore humidity far better than lighter bodies
  • Our first choice for gate posts, pillars and open corridors
  • No battery compartment for water to find
  • Larger dials are easy to operate even with wet hands

Considerations

  • Heavier than the plastic-bodied models — normal for this build
  • Silver only, to match typical outdoor hardware
  • The backup key retrieves the code rather than opening the door

Not suitable when

  • The mailbox is fully sheltered and you want the lowest price — P2 is enough

Horizontal Digital Lock

Compact horizontal keypad for narrow or short mailbox doors.

Best for: Mailbox doors too narrow or short for a vertical keypad.

Advantages

  • Fits doors where a vertical keypad simply will not go
  • Same fast 4-digit PIN entry as P4
  • Compact face leaves room above and below the mail slot
  • Low-battery warning before it runs down

Considerations

  • Uses a replaceable battery
  • Backup key arrangements vary by batch; confirmed in writing before fitting
  • Black only on this model

Not suitable when

  • Your door has room for a vertical keypad — P4 is the more common body and spares are easier
  • The mailbox is fully exposed to rain

  • The widest code range available without a battery
  • A visible deterrent in blocks that have had problems
  • Code can be recovered if forgotten

Considerations

  • Four dials take slightly longer to set than three
  • The backup key retrieves the code rather than opening the door
  • Black only on this model

Not suitable when

  • You want the simplest possible daily operation — P2 is quicker

4-Digit Zinc Alloy

Our toughest build: zinc alloy, 4-digit code, code recovery.

Best for: Exposed, high-use mailboxes that also need the wider code range.

Advantages

  • Combines the zinc-alloy body of P6 with the 4-digit range of P8
  • Our longest-lasting model in exposed coastal positions
  • No battery, so nothing can fail in wet weather
  • Code recovery included as standard

Considerations

  • Our highest price point — the extra buys durability, not features
  • Silver only
  • The backup key retrieves the code rather than opening the door

Not suitable when

  • The mailbox is indoors and lightly used — P2 or P8 is better value

How to choose in about thirty seconds

Most people over-think this. Three questions narrow nine models to one or two.

Do you want to stop carrying a key? If yes, that rules out P1. Do you want to avoid batteries entirely? If yes, that rules out P4 and P7, leaving seven mechanical options. Do you need a way back in if the code is forgotten? If yes, skip P2 — P3, P5, P6, P8 and P9 all ship with a backup key that retrieves your code.

If the mailbox is outdoors or in a coastal estate, weight the zinc-alloy builds (P6 and P9). If an elderly resident will use it daily, P5 exists specifically for that.

What every price on this page includes

  • Supply of your chosen letterbox lock
  • Removal of the old lock mechanism
  • Professional fitting, alignment and testing
  • Code set up with you, or keys handed over
  • Workmanship warranty on the installation
Frequently asked questions

Common questions

How much does a letterbox lock installation cost in Singapore?

Supply and installation starts from S$50 for a standard HDB or condo letterbox. If the mailbox is locked and the key is lost, opening adds S$25 per unit, so a typical open-and-replace job starts at S$75. Digital touch-PIN models start at S$60 and the range tops out at S$85. Urgent installation adds S$10. The final price is confirmed in writing after we review your photo.

Is there a letterbox lock that does not need a battery?

Yes — most of our range. Our combination models (P2, P3, P5, P6, P8 and P9) have no battery at all, so there is nothing to charge and nothing to fail. Only the digital touch-PIN models (P4 and P7) use a replaceable battery, and those warn you before it runs low.

Can you match the existing lock on my letterbox?

In most cases, yes. Send one straight-on photo of the mailbox front and we identify the cut-out, cam type and swivel direction, then confirm in writing which model fits. If we confirm a model and it does not fit on site, you pay nothing — including no attendance fee.

How long does a letterbox lock replacement take?

Most single replacements take 15 to 30 minutes once we are on site and the mailbox is accessible. Bulk jobs for a whole block are scheduled as one coordinated visit.
