HDB letterbox lock replacement
HDB letterbox banks are the most standardised mailboxes in Singapore, which is why most jobs finish in under half an hour on the first visit.
Do you need HDB approval?
For the lock on your own unit's letterbox: no. The lock is yours to maintain and replace, in the same way the lock on your own front door is. You do not need a permit, an application or a letter.
Approval only enters the picture for block-wide work on a common-area mailbox bank. That needs the town council, MCST or managing agent to sign off first, and we help prepare that request before anything is scheduled.
What makes HDB letterboxes straightforward
The standard HDB letterbox door uses a consistent cut-out diameter and a door thickness that falls comfortably inside the clamping range of every model we carry. The variable is the cam swivel direction, which differs between bank generations and is set during fitting.
The practical consequence is that all nine of our models will physically fit a standard HDB letterbox. Your choice is about how you want to open it, not about what will go in the hole.
The two models most HDB residents choose
P1 Traditional Key Lock (S$50) is the straight like-for-like replacement. If you are happy carrying a key and just want the mailbox working again, this is the whole job.
P2 Battery-Free Combination (S$50) is the same price with no key at all. It is our most popular model in HDB blocks, largely because a shared code means every adult in the household has access without cutting a third key.
HDB towns and estates we cover

Common questions
Do I need HDB or MCST approval to change my letterbox lock?
For your own unit's letterbox you do not normally need approval — the lock is yours to maintain. For a block-wide or common-area mailbox bank, the MCST, managing agent or town council must approve the works first, and we help prepare that request before anything is scheduled.
Can you match the existing lock on my letterbox?
In most cases, yes. Send one straight-on photo of the mailbox front and we identify the cut-out, cam type and swivel direction, then confirm in writing which model fits. If we confirm a model and it does not fit on site, you pay nothing — including no attendance fee.
How much does a letterbox lock installation cost in Singapore?
Supply and installation starts from S$50 for a standard HDB or condo letterbox. If the mailbox is locked and the key is lost, opening adds S$25 per unit, so a typical open-and-replace job starts at S$75. Digital touch-PIN models start at S$60 and the range tops out at S$85. Urgent installation adds S$10. The final price is confirmed in writing after we review your photo.
Do you service HDB and condo letterboxes islandwide?
Yes. We cover every HDB town and condominium in Singapore, plus landed homes and outdoor mailboxes. We plan routes across the island each day, so your job is slotted into the next run passing your postal sector and you get a confirmed arrival window before we travel.
I lost my letterbox key. Can you help?
Yes. We open the locked mailbox and fit a replacement lock the same visit. Opening starts from S$25 per unit and we verify on site that you are the resident, owner, tenant or an authorised person before anything is opened.
