When a letterbox lock needs replacing
A letterbox lock is a small mechanism in a hostile position: outdoors or in an open corridor, operated daily, rarely maintained. The common failures are predictable.
The key turns but the door does not open — the cam has sheared or worked loose. The key is stiff or needs jiggling — the wafers are worn and the lock is weeks from failing. The barrel spins freely — the retaining nut has backed off. Visible rust around the escutcheon — common in coastal and ground-floor installations, and usually terminal.
Any of these is a replacement rather than a repair. The parts cost more than the lock does.

What we actually do on site
We open the door, support it, and back off the retaining nut behind the face. The old barrel and cam come out as one piece. The new body goes in, and the cam is indexed to the swivel direction your particular mailbox needs — the step most DIY attempts get wrong.
We then tighten to the correct torque, test the throw against the strike at least five times, set your code with you or hand over the keys, and record a short video of the finished lock opening and closing.

Common questions
How long does a letterbox lock replacement take?
Most single replacements take 15 to 30 minutes once we are on site and the mailbox is accessible. Bulk jobs for a whole block are scheduled as one coordinated visit.
Can you match the existing lock on my letterbox?
In most cases, yes. Send one straight-on photo of the mailbox front and we identify the cut-out, cam type and swivel direction, then confirm in writing which model fits. If we confirm a model and it does not fit on site, you pay nothing — including no attendance fee.
How much does a letterbox lock installation cost in Singapore?
Supply and installation starts from S$50 for a standard HDB or condo letterbox. If the mailbox is locked and the key is lost, opening adds S$25 per unit, so a typical open-and-replace job starts at S$75. Digital touch-PIN models start at S$60 and the range tops out at S$85. Urgent installation adds S$10. The final price is confirmed in writing after we review your photo.
When do I pay?
After the job is done and you have confirmed it. We install the lock, send you a short video of it working, and you only pay once you are satisfied. There is no deposit, nothing to pay online and no card details taken.
